My Review of the Chinese Lantern Festival at Sunset Cove
This past weekend I checked out the Chinese Lantern Festival at Sunset Cove in Boca Raton. The theme is “Into the Wild”, which features over 800 beautiful lanterns of colorful, bright animals from each continent, including the aquatic animals in the lake, giving a stunning reflection off the water. There are even ride-able dinosaurs on display!
Kung-Fu demonstrations take place on stage at the amphitheater and although they don’t have an exact performance time, it’s definitely worth watching if you can catch it. There is a Chinese craft area with sugar artists, sculptors, silk weavers, and other crafts which are purchasable. Even though the crowds gather quickly and the area is very small, these talented artists are not something you want to miss.
Overall, this is a great event to spend time with family or loved ones. And while this event is a little pricey at the gate ($25 for each adult), Groupon has two adult tickets for $35, making the trip to Boca totally worth it.
